Friday Update

The beautiful thing about no one reading your blog is you can disappear for weeks and no one notices.  Ok, my sister noticed, but that's it.  So this one is for you, SJ!  Hold tight, it's a random round-up of what I've been up to.

I've been making a ton of cards lately and decided that instead of them just piling up in my studio, I'm going to start giving card sets away to friends and family.  Handmade cards are the best.

For this card I cut the chair with my Cricut (the chair is my own design) and then gold foiled it with my Minc machine.  I'm anxious to do more gold foiled die-cuts.  The coverage wasn't perfect, but nothing I make is, so I'm just going with it.

This card I painted a watercolor background (like the one above) and then I wrote the word 'cheers' using my new Anna Griffin toner pen, and then I applied gold foil with the Minc machine.

Did I mention a couple weeks ago that my sister is getting married?  I think so.  Anyway, I've been doing some random research for her finding the last minute touches that she needs.  Today on Pinterest I saw this clutch in white (which is no longer available), but I love it in this combo.  Maybe not for a bride, but for a wedding guest...

I know I've mentioned my love for Ines de la Fressange, so about died when I saw this on Pinterest - photos of her home.  Swoon.  Read the full post here

AT HOME WITH INES DE LA FRESSANGE:

And finally I entered a design contest recently, I didn't win or even make it past the first round but it felt good to do something different and push myself creatively.  Here is my entry:

And with that, I'm off to a football game.  Have a great weekend and maybe I'll be back Monday.  :)
